The Marchiano Story

Tucked away on Umbria Street in Manayunk, Marchiano’s Bakery has been a cherished Philadelphia institution since 1982, serving up authentic Italian flavors with heart and heritage. Founded by Frank & Kathy Marchiano and inspired by Frank's mother’s southern Italian recipes, the bakery began in the family’s basement and quickly grew into a local favorite. Best known for its iconic tomato pie...thick with rich sauce, crisped to perfection, and dusted with Parmesan. Marchiano’s also offers a beloved lineup of stuffed specialty breads, hoagies, and take & bake pizzas. With a loyal following that’s included legends like Sinatra and The Temptations, Marchiano’s is more than a bakery...it’s a slice of Manayunk history, where tradition, flavor, and community come together in every bite.
